DisableBuiltinPDFViewer

Disable the built in PDF viewer. PDF files are downloaded and sent externally.

Note

As of Firefox 140, this policy no longer completely disables PDF.js; it changes the handler to send PDF files to the operating system. Embedded PDF files are shown in the browser. If you need to completely disable PDF.js, you can use the PDFjs policy.

Values

• Set to true to hand PDF files to the operating system's default PDF handler.
• Set to false to open PDF files in Firefox. Unlike most policies, this actively sets the handler back to the built-in viewer rather than doing nothing.

If the Handlers policy already configures application/pdf or the pdf extension, that policy wins and DisableBuiltinPDFViewer is ignored.
